My youngest son spent 4 years as an ordnanceman in the USA Reserves, and handled MUCH DU ammunition (now dispersed and reposing in the fields of Kosovo), and my oldest nephew is V-P of a company that specializes in radioactive waste disposal. This subject came up at Christmas last year and they both agreed that the danger is not the radioactivity, but the inhalation of DU dust because of the dangers of heavy metals in general.

The guy is an alarmist and looking for press....

There is a problem, but as noted above, it is endemic to wherever the stuff has been dispersed.
