Oh poppycock. Particularly radioactive compared to what? A silicon computer chip? An equal weight of potassium chloride?
I have a quarter pound of DU sitting here in the room with me. Is it dangerous to me? No. Certainly less so than walking across the street. Or being on a DC-10 this afternoon that lost an engine. But is is radioactive ... you betcha'. And I've got a geiger counter that can prove it.
