The Nuke solution would not add more heat to the environment than would a fossil fuel plant would it?Significantly less. They both make electricity by running steam through a turbine. You end up with the same waste heat coming out of the condenser. The difference is how you get the steam. The nuke just makes it. 99.9% heat efficiency. The fossil, on the other hand, runs a lot of heat up the stack. You try to recover as much as possible with feedwater heaters but there’s still a lot of heat rising over a fossil plant that doesn’t rise over a nuke.
