just because we cannot prove or understand it for the moment???

first there are things that are "proven" and "understood"...ie, there are some absolutes

as for the rest...you right...they are either unproven (and many times, unprovable) and/or poorly understood or not understood at all

in these situations, we have assumptions, which are often axiomatic...

assumption = FAITH...

we believe the postulate to be true...we work with it as true...and reasonably so, until such time as the postulate might be falsified

you CANNOT separate science and faith and philosophy...the three, are an inseparable triad
