"Everything in science is built up step by step from first principles, each step has to be proven."
I am interested in identifying these "first principles." If you would make a brief list of them, I would appreciate it. Is not identifying these "first principles" and weaving them into a coherent set actually the first step of the "step by step" process to which you refer?
My question is this: how does one prove "first principles?" If they cannot be proven, are they not accepted on faith?
