didn't mean to imply the rocks were not affected by gravity, two small rocks would have no obvious attraction, but if flying through space at enormous speed because of gravitational attraction from distant objects they would have an obvious attraction as they competed for the fastest path. All object in a gravity field follow the fastest path, or quickest path that suit that object, as does light, it can not decide to turn from the easiest path. If both rocks need to share the same path they would have to compete, then imagine instead millions of particles of dust doing the same thing, they might congregate together, this would not be attraction by the pull of gratity but my speed and movement
