    Versatile Probe

    This probe is useful for almost everything I need to measure with my digital thermometer. If you were only planning to have one probe, this one is a good choice. The actual diameter of the probe end is .116", so it can fit into a 1/8" or 3mm hole. The cord measures about one foot long when retracted, and can easily stretch to over two feet. The quality of the connector and cord looks good and I'm sure it will be durable enough for even frequent use.

    You get what you pay for.

    I bought this to monitor the temperature of my lead pot. It will not tolerate being immersed in the lead for too long because the plastic handle starts to melt. OK for a quick reading but would not be good for a constant high temperature even though only the tip was inserted in the lead it traveled up and started to melt the plastic. He coil cord is also just plastic and not heat resistant.
