Throw your sponge in the trash!
I'm new to cigars and humidors so I just used the sponge humidifier that came with my first humidor. After reading the directions, seasoning the box, and charging the sponge I still could not get my humidor to stabilize in the correct range. It would fluctuate between 55-60%. I tried everything, I wiped it down inside again, put a shot glass of distilled water in it, and still had the same results. When I got the bovida packs I took the sponge out and put 2 packs inside the humidor. For almost a week now my humidity has been sitting perfectly at 66-67% and has not moved. To anyone thinking about getting these, do it! Yes they seem a little expensive, but when you consider the price of the cigars in your box, and what it would cost to replace them. Humidor Control Made Easy
Got to love these Boveda humidification bags. The is the best and easiest way to keep those precious stoogies absolutely at the perfect humidity. They are two way bags, so they release when more humidity is needed and absorb if the humidity starts to get high.
