We sell event tickets using an online vendor for 'back office' stuff and they provide customer printable tickets for events. The original (vendor supplied) laser scanner we used had trouble reading many barcodes - especially if they were printed on a low-resolution color inkjet - the laser scanner reader just couldn't handle the poor barcode quality and reliably read codes. A real PITA when you need to scan dozens or hundreds of tickets in a hurry! This is an imaging scanner - basically a camera that dissects full images into barcodes, then outputs the barcode as text on a USB - and it works like a charm! Very fast scanning, one click and wham!, it's done. Even seems to work with ticket barcodes on handheld devices like iPhones or Androids - if the contrast is good. We went from reading about 80% with the vendor scanner to 99% just by changing to this scanner. I like this one so well we will be getting a couple more as they come available on the used market.Read full review
