I've owned one other inexpensive gen 1 night vision monocular before this one. The Bushnell 260500 is also gen 1, but the image is much cleaner and clearer. It is technically a monocular, since the left "lens" is the IR lamp, but the image of the camera is sent to both eyes, with diopter adjustment like real binoculars. I chose the 2X magnification over the 4X because I'm not going to use these for longer distances than 100 yards, typically 50 yards and closer. 2X allows you to see a wider field, and even walk in total darkness, which is much more awkward with 4X. The IR illumination is more than adequate and easily adjustable. Uses 4 AA batteries ( it's a deal breaker for me if a device uses exotic or unreplaceable internal rechargeable batteries). Records video or photos to a micro SD card. All in all, a great, feature-rich value for $200 or less.Read full review

I've read alot of good reviews on this these binoculars in their overall performance. I am new the night vision thing so I discounted the "daylight use" and effectiveness of them. If you're expecting these to be like a normal set of binoculars for day light use, they're not. The 640x480 resolution of the small screens that you actually see in the viewfinder is not very good compared to normal optics. This is not so much a negative of the product but a comment on my non-informed expectations. The other negative would be in the relatively non-intuitive operation of some of the functions/settings. but again this is a more a question of familiarity than anything. For it'e intended use it seems to be the best out there for the features and price.

Night vision that works and can also work in direct daylight. These don’t compare to your regular glass binoculars for daytime use, but, they’re not intended to. They are made for night viewing... and they work! Up to 150+ yards I was very impressed! Beyond that you might have better luck with an additional infrared light but, the included infrared simply runs out of power. A great value nonetheless. See those nighttime critters in their element.

Absolutely loves these binoculars. They work very well at night, with 3 different light levels. 3 different ways of focus. Daytime use is ok, but works much better in dark mode. Would highly recommend these binoculars.

Good value for the dollar. It's not military grade so don't expect it to "wow" you. It is slightly better than some. As you might expect it to be, it is a little "grainee."
