A very nice knife that dates back for about 70 to 80 years. Many of the military knives do not have date codes, although in the Vietnam era fabrication dates were being used. It is hard to determine exact dates because so many different providers were making the same basic knives. This one appears to be a Kutmaster. .Still a great addition to my collection. Great Price for a piece of history and a shop made knife. The USN marking identifies the time period for the Camillus knife. The color inserts in the handle may have been issued that way. A lot of steel items were made for the war effort and in some cases done in a hurry to meet the supply Needed. Just a thought. A great purchase and very glad to make it a part of my collection.
