Move over Delica 4, there's a new favorite. I never really believed all the hype that Taichung produced Spyderco blades were the best of the best until I bought the Sage 5. This is as near perfect an EDC I've ever bought, and I have many. Everything is spot on.....the compression lockup.....blade shape......steel quality.....sharp as a razor right out of the box.....no nonsense wire pocket clip. The texture of the carbon fiber allows for a sure grip, not like the slippery, glossy, cheesy checkerboard carbon fiber on run of the mill knives. By the way, the handle material looks as stunning as it is functional. A badass little blade that earns every penny of it's keep.

Great knife with very nice blade action. Came razor sharp, blade closes easily, and its even gotten better over the past week or so as it loosens up. Carbon Fiber G10 handle is great and super light. This was one of the more expensive Spyderco knives but you can definitely appreciate the quality.

The Sage 5 is certainly one of their best line of folding knives. The combination G10/Carbon Fiber scales are a favorite of mine. Some love them, some hate them, but I find them perfect for me. The compression lock is also a favorite. Any style of compression lock, button lock, bar lock, or axis lock, that keeps your fingers out of the way when closing it, should be the standard in 2021.
