I used these rods to replace broken antenna rods in a number of radios. They have a lower Q value than the rods they are replacing but adding a few turns of wire fixed the problems. Some early radios used a high Q rod and less turns of wire. Later transistor radios used a lower Q rod to make the radio less direction sensitive and countered the lower Q with a higher number of turns on the primary coil. With the higher number of turns these radios work great!
