The Jinhao 911 is a sexy pen. For the price I was skeptical. The pen body is about standard size and seems is sturdy, but it has a lighter balanced weight to it. This nib feels finer than an Extra Fine nib. I have a Preppy .03 and a .02 and it feels like it is somewhere in between. I used it to draw some as well and it is possible to write with the pen rotated 180 degrees with the slope facing up. It writes fine, it has a scratchy feel to it, but I only use that side for finer detail. The normal side can feel like it is scraping the paper when you are using a cheap paper like standard graph or notebook paper. If you use a quality paper within the range of 80lb, it writes fairly smooth. The clip also appears to be fairly sturdy and I use it to attach it in a leather journal. For the cost and if you want to delve into fountain pens, this is a great pen for the price. I am considering picking up a couple more to have around.Read full review

This is an excellent writer, smooth, no hand cramp, light, feels very nice in your hand and writes cleanly and beautifully. The only caveat with this pen is that if you are not using it every day, it will stop almost completely after about a week of no use and it will be very hard to start. For someone who writes with a fountain pen only a few times a week, it might cause some starting issue (the same ink in another pen does not behave the same way; e.g. Jinhao 51a). However, if you are using this pen every day, you cannot go wrong with this great pen. There is a reason why this design has been around for more than half a century now.

Pen looks great in stainless steel, cap seems to be secure and the hooded nib writes great. Good value for a cheap price!!

It is a great writer; very smooth and has a nice weight to it. It writes about the same as a lamy safari. When you pull off the cap, you sometimes twist it a little bid, and then you could unscrew the body from the mechanism with the converter a little bit. This means you can absolutely never use it as an eyedropper pen! However, for the price, this is a minor indiscrepancy. The pen looks and writes far more expensive then it actually costs. Absolutely recommend!

Very good quality for the price. The nib is decent and useful for daily purposes.
