My father retired from the Corvette Plant in Bowling Green and I worked for Complete Auto, the Corvette transport company, from 1985 to 1987. This is a piece of the plant dedication ribbon cutting ceremony, which took place on June 1, 1981, and is autographed by Zora Arkus-Duntov. It was recently authenticated by JSA, and a copy of the certificate is attached. The ribbon is in excellent condition and has been kept in storage for 41 years.Before you even ask, I attempted to donate it to the Corvette museum, but they could not guarantee that it would be displayed, nor would they guarantee that it would stay in the museum. I just want it to go to an avid collector who will frame it, enjoy it, and share it with other Corvette enthusiasts.Here is what is included: a pristine copy of The People Behind The Car magazine, which lists my father’s name at the back of the magazine, and also contains a photograph of Zora at the ribbon cutting ceremony. An excellent condition copy of the Vette Gazette magazine (printed for plant employees) with contains an article about Zora visiting the plant on the 10th Anniversary. I will also include an 8X10 scanned picture of my father, standing with his employees, in front of the first production Corvette. The original photograph has been promised to one of his employees standing in the picture, as my father passed away three years ago. I will provide an original 8 X 10 of the first production Corvette (see attachments).I am asking $1400.00, which includes insured shipping, as well as a signature upon receipt. I will also entertain reasonable offers as this is a very rare and unique item.
