A chance for fans of the X-Men TV series to own some original art. This 7.75 x 11" drawing, made with some blue pencil and inked with Pigma markers, is a piece of original production art from my background work on the tv animated series X-Men Evolution. The drawing is made on a piece of plain bond paper and is very slightly rumpled. There is some whiteout on it but it is not as apparent to the eye as it is in the photos. On the back of the drawing (see the last photo) is a printed fax I was sent of the storyboard frame I based my background design on. Because production speed was important, sometimes I just drew the design on a lightbox, on the back of the storyboard image I was faxed.
It's an image straight from the files of Pro Comics & Animation artist Paul Rivoche aka ROCKETFICTION. Paul has worked for many major publishers such as DC Comics (Superman comics cover artist) and Marvel Comics (Iron Man cover art) as well as working in animation—as a chief background designer for the Batman Beyond show and many other WB Animation series, as well as for the 2023 Oscar-nominated feature film ROBOT DREAMS.
This original art is a unique item and a perfect addition for collectors of animation art, comic books, and memorabilia. The drawing captures the essence of the modern age of animation and comics and is in the tradition of science fiction line art by artists such as Moebius, or equally, the type of world portrayed in anime movies such as those by Hayao Miyazaki and many others.
