For you to consider is a vintage polished brass hourglass sand timer. Dating to the mid-late 20th century, these timers are a rarity and difficult to find in this condition. Standing approximately 24” in height, the hourglass measures 8.25” in diameter, weighs 8 lbs., and times out at 30 minutes. A few small random spots of oxidation can be found on the brass stand near the hourglass, and some mild tarnish is present which will likely polish away with some effort and gentle persistence. It appears as if the polish has had a lacquer or protective coating applied at some point which has helped to deter tarnish. Otherwise the condition is excellent. The frame feels solid and secure with no wobble or loose fittings, the glass is fully intact, and the sand is white with no discoloration and flows freely with no clogging or hesitation. Wear is commensurate for age and history of use so please regard the photos as they form a descriptive part of the listing.
