W65 coal miner personal self rescuer. .will allow a coal miner up to 1 hour of breathing in case of a mine fire.it is MSHA and MSA approved. it is still factory sealed. (red pull tap) .in case of an underground fire, the miner would pull the rescurer off his mine belt, break the seal, and put the neck strap over his head. put on the rescurer nose clip. and head outside the mine. in smoke, it will give the miner up to 1 hour of safe breathing. it is designed to filter the smoke filled air..
In found condition, may have age wear and mine debris...came out of a west virginia coal mine.
