Very RARE Roswell Gleason, Pewterer Boston Solar Lamp -All Original Working Lamp

Very Rare and Significant piece of lighting history. Cast base marked RG under for Roswell Gleason, a pewterer from Boston. Gleason made pewter whale oil and fluid burning oil lamps. He ventured into Solar making only a handful of Pewter Solar lamps and Brass Solar Lamps.

This is one of Very Few remaining, especially with Original parts. Note special double headed screw for deflector hold down And unique vertical lines on font design. Special to the Gleason lamp.

In 25 years ive only seen a few of these in collections.

Great victorian era brass Solar Lamp.

In use from 1840’s to 1860. This lamp is in working condition just add a wick and fuel

Lamp has all or its Original burner parts, ready to use. Lamp is complete with all parts shown: base, font with tube, wick raiser, thimble, deflector with chimney nut, and glass chimney. There is no damage to the lamp, its in excellent condition. (Check as these are always missing parts, electrified, or turned to kerosene)
