The 1stSFGA is oriented towards the Pacific region, and is often tasked by PACOM. Currently, 1st SFGA and two of itsbattalions spend roughly six months out of every twelve deployed on arotational basis to either Iraq as Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force- Arabian Peninsula, to Afghanistan as Combined Joint Special Operations TaskForce - Afghanistan, or to the Philippines as Joint Special Operations TaskForce - Philippines. This2005insignia is not shown in the “U.S. Special Forces Group Insignia (Post1975)” however it is theactual insignia received by the team, not the copy of a decal and is \'C&Dident No. 139-54 and on page No. 85 of Perkowski’s new“U.S.Army Special Forces Team History and Insignia, 1975 to Present”
