Senator ALAN CRANSTON Signed 1975 Letter & Envelope w Copy Constituent\'s RequestUp for sale is an original 1975 letter from the office of California Senator Alan Cranston (1914-2000). Senator Cranston served for 24 years and was the Chair of the Senate Veterans Affairs committee and also served as both Senate Majority and Minority Whip. Cranston\'s letter is responding to a 1975 letter from one of his constituents and what\'s nice about this is that we have a copy of the letter he\'s answering. It\'s from Mrs. Jessie Hughes and her concerns aboutthe high national debt which was 500 billion at that time (that was a different era). The letter signed by the senator is in nice condition. It is stapled to its original envelope from his office and a page from the Congressional Record from February 5, 1975--it\'s a statement from the Senator. The letter has \"Economy-Budget\" written at the top in pencil - likely noting the topic. The signature is hand written and in blue marker.
