Could be presented today. Displays well for the collector. I continue to look 👀 for and find these great finds. Full provenance AND a copy of the original instructions. (WOI). I added some innovation! As found, original condition. Think cork! The Great La Follete, 1886-1960 most likely would have presented this as “Rush Ling Toy.” What a curious Pan-Asian name.
Effect: A tall canister with bottom and lid can be shown empty. A bag of rice fills the empty cylinder placed inside the hinged lid box. Bag crushed and tossed inside box. Canister rice leveled off, lid placed on and removed from box, placed on table. Bottle shown and small funnel placed in neck of bottle. Water or wine (any liquid) poured into bottle. Instantly, dry rice poured out of bottle into box or another glass. When canister opened, rice is gone and water, wine poured out! As a Finale, a large silk or string of dry silks produced from canister!
That is much magic! At the start, empty box can be tipped forward and clearly shown empty and unprepared. Bottom covered in black felt. Near new condition on felt. See all photographs for condition. I think great condition+. Maker unknown. Quality above bench made. Made of tin. Bake light knob on canister lid. Age expected, minimal wear. Supply your own rice, white polka dot silk shown to represent rice. Supply your own silk(s), goblet, bag as these are not prepared, special. Brown bag could replaced with another goblet or ornate bowl of your choice. Utilize your favorite. Bottle is very realistic.
My cork included. Label shows light age expected wear. Complete and attached. Easily replaced, that is up to you.
Original condition. A real find! In all my years of making items available, never seen nor heard of this one! IF presenting with this, expect TWO rounds of applause. One after transposition effect, ONE after silk production. You would be in applause position.
