This is a 1939 Singer Sewing Machine in a bentwood case. It is in great working order. Catalog number: BY 15-7. Model Number: AF290602 made on June 12, 1939. Included is the quality control paper from the factory workers. The light works, the foot peddle works. It sews beautifully (see photo #3). The machine has a \"Wrinkle\" finish. The light fixture is bakelite (pre-plastic). The case in in excellent shape with a few scratches. The machine may have been used on Navy ships during WWII. (see below for more info). The first Singer built machines in black wrinkle were the model 99-24s, serial numbers AF289406 to AF292405 starting in 1939. He noted that the BY 15-7 motor and the 99-24s light were their first bakelite (plastic) motor and light housings.
