Political Fem Posters 1968 "The Pill" The Pope (No No) & Uncle Sam(I Want You To:
This is a rare set of two (2) posters, with different messages about "The Pill". I bought this framed set in the late 80's, at the old Cleveland, OH store called Antiques In The Bank", which was an old bank building turned antique/salvage shop with a basement full of salvage items. Both have a black stained wooden frame with a red line around, plexiglass and hanging wire.
The Pope poster message reads, "The Pill Is A No-No" and has fine print in the lower left corner, "Item 67 (c) 1968 Pandora Products, Box 407, Wayzata MN 55391" and "Nordahl"- which looks like the artist, under the Pope's image. Frame measures 18.5" x 12.5" x 1/2"
/ approx. 2.75 Lbs.. The Uncle Sam poster message reads, "I Want You To Take Your Pill Now" (and Pill is underlined) and in the lower left corner, "1968, Cabinet type shop". No artist signature/name or any other print. Frame measures 18" x 12"x 1/2"/ approx. 2.5 Lbs..Condition is "overall very good, vintage, sold as a framed set". There is some wear (scratches/nicks/scuffs) on both of the wooden frames and the back of Uncle Sam has ripped frame backing paper. The poster fronts are nice black (not faded) on aged (slightly yellowed) paper.
The Pope has no hanging holes or stains/soiling,
but the Uncle Sam poster has some hanging tac holes in corners an 12o'clock area. Also light stains that are like tea (light tan watercolor) splatter/drips, but none are on the image or affect reading the words. Those marks are above the "I" (two 1/2"x1") and one (1") line in the 2 o'clock area and three lines above & below the "YO" and from the "N" down to the frame edge.
