Philadelphia, PA Cabinet Card 1890 serious man, by woman photographer Annie HustedI love this shot! The man is so approachable and the focus so clear that I feel like he\'s a learned man I can consult about history or economics or something!
Below image is printed, in gilded letters:
\"Husted & Co.Ridge Ave. and Wallace St.PHILADELPHIA. \"
On reverse is printed a large, ornate crest with \"Husted & Co.\" across it and:\"Ridge Ave. and Wallace St.Philadelphia.A. Husted, Jno. G. Cassebaum.\"Annie Husted (born about 1851) began in the photography trade with her brother Joseph in about 1880, as a \"clerk in a photography gallery.\" By 1889, she is listed in the city directories as a photographer. Cassebaum joins her in 1890 or so, and by 1900 she is no longer listed. She died in Philadelphia June 2, 1913.Cream card with rounded corners and gilded, beveled edges measures 6.5 x 4.25 inches. Image measures about 5.5 x 3.875 inches.

My mother was a photographer who collected antique photos of all types for years. As I am settling her estate, I will be listing these photos as quickly as I am able. There are hundreds of photos to go through, and I am trying to match any information my mother may have left with individual photos. Unfortunately, Mom had dementia at the end of her life and wasn\'t able to tell me much about her collection. She had done a lot of research into photographers and individual pieces in her collection, and often, but not always, filed her research with the photo(s). I search for more information on the internet and in history books, but it\'s a slow process and it will take me a long time to complete the sorting and selling process.
