Family Christmas Card 1991

signed by Princess Diana and King Charles III (then Prince of Wales)

Excellent provenance; I’m selling on behalf of relative who the card was the original recipient. Has been kept with the envelope, which has the official, dated Buckingham Palace post stamp on the front and back, and the British monarchy postage stamp on the front.

Card Details

Exterior:

• Landscape white heavy card (6.1” x 7” / 15.5cm x 17.7cm)

• Two royal emblems on the front, embossed with gold foil

• Back shows embossed space for photograph

Interior left:

• Handwritten: “To you both”

• Print: “Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year”

• Handwritten: “from Charles and Diana”

The handwriting is in black ink, and the printed text is red.

Interior right:

• Colour photograph of Charles, Diana, William and Harry (approximately 5.8” x 4.6” / 13.4cm x 11.6 cm)

• Embossed space for photo

• Red ink border around photo

Envelope

• Approximately 19.2cm x 16.1cm / 7.6” x 6.3”)

• Buckingham Palace postal stamp with date: “REGISTERED 16 DEC 1991 BUCKINGHAM PALACE SW1A 1AA” (black ink, front and back)

Front also has:

• British monarchy postage stamp (purple)

• Royal Mail postage sticker

• Horizontal and vertical blue pencil lines, possible for aligning when printing address?

PLEASE NOTE: the name and address of the original recipient has been cut out of the envelope for their privacy

This is from the final year and family Christmas card prior to Diana and Charles separation.

The card and envelope have been kept out of direct sunlight and in a smoke free home. The card will be sent inside a single rigid plastic sleeve with white card backing and the envelope will have white card inside it and be put into the other side of the plastic sleeve for safety.

Will be sent express and with signature required, and with additional postal coverage and protective packaging so it arrives safely.
