ODB, or Ol' Dirty Bastard, was an American rapper and member of the hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan. He was born on November 15, 1968, in Brooklyn, New York, and passed away on November 13, 2004, in New York City.
ODB's real name was Russell Tyrone Jones. He gained fame as a member of the Wu-Tang Clan in the 1990s and released his debut solo album, "Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version," in 1995. The album was a critical and commercial success and included hit songs such as "Shimmy Shimmy Ya" and "Brooklyn Zoo."
ODB was known for his unique rapping style, which included a mix of singing, rapping, and spoken word. He was also known for his eccentric behavior and unpredictable antics, both on and off stage. He had several run-ins with the law, including arrests for drug possession, assault, and escaping from a rehab facility.
Despite his personal struggles, ODB remained a beloved figure in the hip-hop community and was known for his energetic performances and raw, unfiltered lyrics. He was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Wu-Tang Clan in 2019.
