Virtually unobtainable autograph manuscript in Francis Crick’s hand recording the daily entry for July 2, 1966 and consisting of over 25 lines, over 150 words, and nearly half a dozen mathematical calculations. The manuscript was found in Crick’s nautical logbook used on board his Bertram powerboat named theEye of Heavenin 1966, four years after he won the Nobel Prize. The manuscript is two pages on a single leaf, measures 8” by 6”, and in fine condition with minor toning along the borders.
THE MANUSCRIPT COMES FROM THE WELL-KNOWN FRANCIS CRICK ESTATE SALE AT HERITAGE sales IN 2013, WHICH SOLD CRICK’S NOBEL PRIZE FOR $2.3 MILLION
The manuscript comes from the well-known Francis Crick estate sale at Heritage sales in April 2013, which sold Crick’s Nobel Prize for $2.3 million.The manuscript has been authenticated by and is accompanied with documentation from Heritage.
