MS. MARVEL 1. HOTTEST KEY. 1st HERO CAROL DANVERS. CAPTAIN MARVEL MOVIE. READER:
$26.00

CAROL DANVERS, NOW CALLED CAPTAIN MARVEL IN HER BRONZE AGE SOLO DEBUT. FORTHCOMING MCU MOVIES CAPTAIN MARVEL AND AVENGERS 4 ARE MAKING THIS A SOON TO BE UNAFFORDABLE KEY.Because of 50+ percent SPINE SEPARATION and other imperfections on the back cover, this one is GD at best, PROBABLY LOWER, but presents as NICE in a top loader (included upon request). That is because the front cover damage is limited to the top left corner and the eye takes in the rest of the cover as relatively clean, bright, and reflective. For collecting purposes, I would recommend it remain in this unrestored state, though it would be easy to attempt amateur repairs. Even low grade copies are disappearing off the market and having a reader or a slabbed, conserved low grade will remain valuable in the years to come. Read the full info below for policies, tips, and hacks. You will be glad you did.About the SellerI am a collector and a cultural historian located in Hollywood. Whatever I sell, I have collected at some point. I sell comics to refine my collection. The lots I sell are either doubles from full-runs I own, or unique items that I am sacrificing towards the end of perfecting a smaller, more focused collection. I also occasionally buy and sell records, films and other entertainment memorabilia. The comic book lots currently on offer fall generally into two categories:(1) High and Low grade copies of extremely high demand books that are getting harder to come by in affordable grades. Right now these include titles on every Bronze Age “hot list”: All Star #58 (first Power Girl, high grade), New Gods #1, #2, and #7 in a single reading copy lot (first Orion, first Darkseid cover, Origin, 1st Steppenwolf,  low grade bargain), Ms. Marvel #1 (Carol Danvers flagship title, nice-looking low grade, currently HTF), Brave and the Bold #200 (last issue, first Outsiders, first Katana, high grade), and Forever People #1 (first full Darkseid; solid higher grade). Regardless of grade, nothing is slabbed.(2) Scarce and hard to find single issues and runs from Golden and Silver ages, many of which fall into the connoisseur or oddball categories. Right now that includes multiple lots by creators like Simon and Kirby, Eisner, Cole, Fine, Nordling, Frazetta, Elias, Ogden Whitney, John Stanley, and some Alex Schomburg wartime covers, as well as cult series like Black Cat, Sugar & Spike, Sgt. Bilko, Herbie, Groovy, Little Lulu, Tubby, Inferior Five, The Spirit, and Boy Commandos. Some of these have been collected archive-type editions, but many have not. If your idea of sophisticated humor starts with Deadpool or Harley Quinn, you owe it to yourself to dig into the earlier history of all-ages comics beyond the superhero genre, because many of these works set an enduring standard for the medium as a whole. Crossing “scarce” with “hot” we’ve got lots of Kirby, whose solo creations are being mined for 3 to 5 film franchises as we speak, and for long-term investors, there are some scarce golden age Archie (incredibly hot, who knew?), Quality pre-DC superhero, pre-DC Blue Beetle, low print-run undergrounds, and pre-code horror Plastic Man. At least one lot will be a one-of a-kind, entirely unique item, so browse carefully. To offer or “Buy It Now”?While there is no hidden reserve, until I can list more items and have higher visibility on , I can’t afford to list most lots for starting offers as low as 50 cents or 99 cents. Still, the starting offer will always still be a tiny fraction of Overstreet, Nostomania, or fair market value. So offer with confidence. Better yet, if you’ve read this far, I’ll let you in on a secret: I will always try to offer the lowest “Buy It Now” prices currently available at the time of listing, so always consider grabbing that option before the opportunity disappears, and before offerding takes the price wherever the market demands.Packing and ShippingI use a combination of new and recycled packaging materials to ensure the items are preserved against third party mishandling.I offer First Class or Priority Mail for single and multiple items, depending on what will get the item to you quickly and safely. Books and lots with a value over $50 are sent Priority, and I pay the additional insurance up to guide value. I combine shipping. Just let me know when the last of the items you are offerding on ends, and I will invoice you on that date.I try to be fair about shipping costs. I know it’s no fun to offer on multiple items and end up winning a single low cost comic in a Priority envelope. If I see that is the situation, and the default option is Priority, I might even include a few free comics of the same era or genre. It helps protect the comic, and keeps the hobby fun for everyone. Multiple wins and a large Priority box would be ideal for everyone.A Media Mail option will appear only where the items genuinely qualify, for example graphic novels, HCs and TPBs without ads. Some comics’ series, like the Who’s Who and Marvel Handbook series in the 1980s, or square-bound one-shots qualify. A mixed order including books that do not qualify (even if these are ads for non-existent products from the 1930s) will have to be sent First Class or Priority, whatever makes more sense for that particular lot.ALL single and combined orders (domestic only) ABOVE $100 will be shipped for free.ReturnsJust let me know within a few days of receiving the item, no more than 14 days total, that you intend to return it, and I will authorize the return and refund your purchase price immediately upon receipt and inspection of the item. If a non-identical item is “returned,” we might have an issue. Also, partial returns on lots seem unworkable, but let’s keep communication open. Otherwise, no harm no foul. Buyer pays for return I will characterize them with an average grade, or as a range, such as “higher grade,” “mid-grade”, or “low ISSUES, here is what to If it did exist, I wouldn’t touch perfect. Minor printing and bindery flaws allowed. Otherwise nothing easily perceptible to the unaided eye. Whether it is a 9.2 or a 9.6, I conservatively say “NM.” So treat every NM as a 9.0 and you will have every reason to be happy. Your best bet is to ask me questions or study the photos. I magnify each perceptible flaw far beyond its visibility to the naked eye.·         VF: Average new comic. A few flaws including printing flaws and storage wear. A pleasure to handle, but probably a few reads away from read comic. Read but clean. No color breaks. Solid to collect, solid to read. There is a very wide range breaks. No tears. A solid VG van be read 100 times and keep this grade. A respectable grade for books pre-dating 1970.·         GOOD: Tearing and small missing pieces are possible at this grade. A single missing staple, or loose centerfold also common. Some are great reading copies, some are iffy for re-reading. Nice books and rough ones alike can descend to this grade with single flaw like a cut coupon. So I usually make a qualitative note of “presents better” or “great for reading,” for but all story aspects are complete.  Often unattractive or falling apart, but it might be a very nice copy with a significant flaw. Again, I will note the these can be a chore to read unless they are solid but or Cover Only: There is a parallel market for these books.3)      With plus, minus, and slash grades (VF++/NM-), there are over a hundred permutations and combinations, but pictures generally tell the story you need to know. Finally, note that there are unattractive books that are VF and once in a while there are beautiful books that are poor or incomplete. If I say “Nice” or “Solid” or “Beautiful”, these are not grading terms. I\'m just letting you know that it presents better or feels better that its actual grade. So “Nice/Incomplete” is a possibility. If I say “reading copy” that means its solid enough to read without affecting the grade. If I say “Rough”, “Fragile”, or “Brittle”, it may still be collectible in its condition but you will have to choose between treating the book as a reading copy and preserving it in its present state. Since I only sell stuff that is interesting to me, and I still buy far more than I sell, I share something in common with every buyer. I hope to develop some relationships with loyal and consistent co-collectors, as I have for many years with the dealers I trust. Thanks!
