For sale is an impactfragment of a meteorite (also known as moldavite). These fragments come from a notable meteoritestrike that took place near southern Germany and the Czech Republic about 15million years ago.

Moldavite (alsocalled Bouteille Stone or vltavin) is a natural glass that is believed to haveformed in the heat of an asteroid impact. This event occurred approximately 15 millionyears ago, and a splatter of hot glass formed a strewn field across central Europe.

·The fragments measure about 1/4 to 1/2 incheslong (6mm-12mm) long and may differ slightly from what is pictured in thephotos (i.e. some are rounder, some are flatter).
