Historically significant relics from the calamity that followed the 1906 San Francisco earthquake.
Three official passes that were used to cross military lines for VIPs and residents to gain access to the damages areas.
The first pass is dated April 25th which was just seven days after the quake. It was granted to F. G. Wulzen who was a merchant that supplied materials to the SF Fire department. It is signed by the Adjutant General of California J. B. Lauck.
The second pass was issued to Thomas Palache, an insurance executive whose company Atlas Assurance was a major insurer of property in SF.
The third pass appears to be a single use voucher to enter and return on a Southern Pacific train. It was used by W. H. Barrows who was a prominent SF attorney.
