This is 1st 10 metals in a series of at least 16 that I have heard of. Minted in the 1960's they are a rare find in this condition or any condition. Each metal is stamped on the edges 2525. This is the set number. Each metal has its original metal plate. This metal plate states the famous women the metal is for. The metal is Sterling Silver Proof. The number of the metal. Then it says, Commemorative Privately Struck by Societe commemorative De Femmes Celebres. At the bottom of the plate, it says Sculpted by and the name of the sculptor. The 1st metal was done by Gilroy Roberts who did some metals of late presidents. Please look at pictures for names of the other metals sculptors, each one is different. Each metal is also in its original 8-sided capsule. These are in excellent condition with little if any ware. They are around 2 x 2 inches. These fit nicely into the case. The case has 2 locks and 2 keys. I have tested them and they work. They work as you would expect them to work, which is very stiff. I would not lock these locks. Because if you have trouble you may have to break the lock to get it open. The coins are in excellent condition also with edge toning and one has toning of blue and pink on the face of one side, see last picture of coin on scale. Each metal is around 1-1/2-inch Demeter and is 28 grams or 0.850 Troy oz. So, the set is around 8.50 Troy oz. Of .925 Sterling silver. Outside of Case is in very good condition with some light ware. Case is around 14-1/8 x 7-5/8 x 1-1/2 inches. Inside of case has some marks and discoloration under the lid, see picture. The bottom part on the inside of the case. Where the metal plates are is starting to break down. I rubbed my finger on it and I could see a little blue on my finger. This blue part also has some scratches on it, please see pictures. Any questions please ask.
