In combat situations, medics would use these kits to stabilize the wounded. I can only imagine how dependent they were on these little kits. They were life savers, literally.
Fraass ended their surgical tool making in the mid 60s when the majority of their manufacturing plant in New York City was lost to a massive fire.
Fraass was in the newspapers a good bit during that time and several years to follow.
