An early Country Roads Board of Victoria warning lamp made by Appleton of Brisbane, a company that manufactured lamps for railway and road authorities throughout Australia and New Zealand from the early 1900s. This example is branded with the early CRB brand including a Government arrow. This lamp has had both the outer lamp casing and the internal lantern fuel font stamped with the CRB initials. Usually, only the outer casings were branded. The lamp is fitted with the original ruby glass globe which has some nibbles out of the base from years of use (see last photo) but is otherwise in very good condition. (Early globe with thicker glass than the newer globes.) Also has its original ceramic tipped burner. The lamp was repainted by the previous owner and it is in good presentable condition with no major dents or damage. Sturdy galvanized steel construction.
The parcel will be sent by Australia Post with actual postage cost being charged (maximum of $17.60 within Australia, less if closer to Brisbane) plus $3 for handling.
