This is a cool pair of classic US trilobites. This is an extremely rare Isotelus maximus DOUBLE from Ohio found and prepared YEARS ago. This type of trilobite is one of the most recognizable trilobites in the world, especially because of its potential maximum size. This type has also been officially named the \'\'STATE FOSSIL OF OHIO\"! This distinct specimen has TWO prone trilobites (NOT composited!) on the plate - so close, they are actually touching! The smaller bug is complete, while the larger one has about a third reconstructed (part of the right side, see photo #2 for what is the original fossil). The chocolate-brown coloration of the bugs is quite striking. The distinct trilobites display well on the grey-green matrix block. This is an extremely hard-to-find Isotelus maximus NATURAL DOUBLE from the Cincinnati area - again, preserved so close together, they are actually touching!
