This is a very cool Olenellid trilobite plate. It is asplit pairOlenellus gilberti from Nevada. This specimen is special because it is a split pair - both the part and counterpart are present, which is quite unusual. The trilobite has good detail preserved, and has the long telson (tailspine) attached. Both fossils displaywell on the large. colorfulplates of shale that also contain other trilobite parts and a beautiful dendrite! This is aninteresting positive/negative example of this classic Lower Cambrian trilobite.
