Please feel free to offer with confidence. I have been a dealer in Rare Ephemera, signatures/autographs, documents... for over 38 years now. I have a B.A. in Spanish from the University of Toronto including studies in Cuban Literature/History and I continue my studies of Cuban, Spanish and also Chinese history on a daily basis. I have studied various subjects at university over a period of 13 years, including Linguistics, while also obtaining a teaching certificate (T.E.S.L.), also from the University of Toronto - I studied the structure of 21 languages, including Chinese, Inuktitut and Swahili in obtaining my Teaching Certificate. My education is a great asset to me as I am constantly examining rare documents and autographs from all over the world. I live both in Havana, Cuba and Toronto, Canada. I have also worked as a professional Estimator in the printing industry for 20 - 25 years and have examined thousands of printed pieces over the years allowing me to determine the difference between original and reproduction pieces as well as different types of printing processes. My years in the printing industry has also allowed me to become an expert in identifying different papers and paper types including determining paper calipers (thicknesses) to virtually 1/1000" by hand. I have also worked as a consultant in the computer industry for close to 30 years giving me yet greater knowledge of digital reproduction processes - this helps me further in determining the originality of documents and signatures. I am also a consultant to different Universities as regards rare Cuban and Chinese documents, including to scholars at Arizona State University and an Exhibition on the Entry of the Chinese in Cuba in the 19th century they are presenting. The Exhibition will tour both the United States and China in 2015. My documents, photos etc., can also be found as part of the archive of the Cuban Cultural Center of the University of Miami, amongst other institutions. I also have native-like fluency (written and spoken) in 4 languages including English, French, Spanish and German, allowing me to handle, transcribe and translate a wide variety of documents. I have also been a member vendor of in good-standing for about 17 years now and I invite you to review my response re: rare documents, autographs, photos sold... and so, again, I ask that you offer with confidence.
