CD 145 BROOKFIELD \"B\" Light Green HUGE ASTEROID IN DOME Antique Glass Insulator!Glass insulators were first produced in the 1850\'s for use with telegraphlines. As technology later developed, glass insulators were needed for telephonelines, electric power lines, and other applications. In the mid 1960\'s, people began collecting these antique glass insulators. Glass insulator production ceased in the 1970\'s and thousands of lines have been wrecked out over the past 150 years with the majority of these \"glass jewels\" completely lost to time when the wrecking crews simply threw them away. Glass insulators are highly sought after collectibles today and are getting harder and harder to find in the wild.
This particular piece is a CD 145. In a terrific light green color! This piece has a HUGE piece of potstone in the dome area, check out the pictures! Embossing Index on this piece is [035]. It is embossed (Dome) [Number 4] (F-Skirt) B (R-Skirt) [Number 4]. Insulator has a SMOOTH BASE. Condition wise, it only has a ding on the rear crown area. No other damage I can find. The potstone is the standout feature of this piece and it looks FANTASTIC! Displays great and will make a wonderful addition to your collection!
