For sale is a caesar cipher substitution encryption device. It is made from old world brass. This is non magnetic. It is in great vintage condition. The window tab on this unit can be used as an alpha-shift aid to encode poly-alphabetically instead of just mono-alphabetically. This creates a very strong enciphered message that is near impossible to break.

Please note that no attempt was made to clean this item. It is just as it was found and wiped off with a dry cloth.

It has some small circular scratches in between where the two plates meet and slide against one another. Comes as pictured with walnut wood box.

This comes from a large collection of cryptography stuff and ham radio/Morse code equipment from an estate sale in Pennsylvania. If you have any questions please ask.
