Padang, Sumatra(Indonesian) GREEN amber is a fairly recent find. It originates from the regionof West Sumatra. This amber possesses abeautiful, deep green color when sunlight is shining on it. The color rivals thatof the finest Dominican and Chiapas (Mexican) green amber.

It is a piece ofrare amber from the region of Padang,Indonesia (located in the region of western Sumatra) with a dark green colorwhen light is shining on it and a cherry red color when light is shiningthrough it.

The majority of the piece is hand sanded and polished to show true color best. It is largeand weighs 68.6 grams oraround 340 carats.

A piece such as thiswould make a great addition to any fossil or gemstone collection.

It is associated with coal mining usually.

Please note that this material is more rare than Dominican amber.
