DESCRIPTION: Scans show it all.....I got this great NANTUCKET basket as part of a Maine collection. Has a great appearance and has the classic rounded oval NANTUCKET BASKET shape, as shown. Typical NANTUCKET STYLE, with wooden base, wrapped round rim w/nails, finely woven rattan, etc. CURVED, 2-DIMENSIONAL SHAPE, ROUNDED AT THE BASE, WOODEN PIECE ON THE TOP w/scallop shell motif, and WOODEN HANDLE, ETC. Really nice shape and very well made.....have to see it to really appreciate it.

Nice vintage large size and style. HAS ALL THE APPEARANCES OF A CLASSIC NANTUCKET BASKET POCKETBOOK. Made as a pocketbook, with top, etc, and the moving wooden handle as shown.

Very substantial and well made. Has great patina and shape, and particularly nice, fine weave. Would be great to use as a classic pocket book or as a nautical theme basket decorator!! Nice for a variety of other uses as well.Nicely made and has nice muted colors. Also has a nice looking weave and design to it, as shown, with varying colors and shades in some of the rows. Hope my scans do it justice.

Has original leather \"hinges\" holding the top on. Also a leather latch to hold it closed. Peg closure may be missing but could be replaced.

Wood base at the bottom is about 3 3/4\" x 6 1/4\", and basket measures 7\" x 10\" at the top. 8\" tall.

Very neat shape made in classic NANTUCKET BASKET style. Excellent condition. YOU WILL BE VERY PLEASED WITH THIS ONE!!
