A Touch of Silver 1-6, Full Run/Set, Most VF/NM, NR Comic Books:
Great condition. Most never read. Clearing out my beloved collection.
Will combine shipping. Please see my other items. Will ship worldwide.
sales starting at $0.99 with . The offerding will determine the value / final price.
Most will be very fine or near mint unless otherwise stated. I have been always very careful and meticulous with my comic collection. Please see the photos for actual quality. All photos taken myself.
Most are bagged and boarded. See pictures to confirm this. If they appear bagged and boarded, they have been this way for years, not just recently done.
I moved to Europe six years ago and now have come back to sell them. I don't want to, but it's too expensive to bring them with. So this is your chance. For collecting or good Fall and Winter reading.
Listing around nine boxes full that have been neatly ordered and stored for many years. If I list all of them then you can save big on combined shipping as there could be upwards of 100 different items.
Good luck with offerding. And thanks for helping me too.
Serious buyers only please. Shipments will be sent out after all of the sales have ended (probably 3-5 days later), since I need to also visit my Mother in a different state while I am here...and to also wait for all sales to end so that I am able to combine shipping for winners of multiple sales. :)
The idea is to win as many sales as you can so that I can combine shipping for you. Media Mail is clearly not allowed for comic books. I will ship using Priority Mail, First-Class Mail or ??? depending on the amount of comics to be sent. Please see the available shipping methods in the listing, and if you win multiple listings, please wait for an invoice, if you would like to pay for combined shipping. I would also appreciate combining shipping for multiple listings as it will make things easier and safer for everyone. Thanks!
Most shipments will include some type of protective padding...if there is extra space to fit it into...crumpled newspaper or pieces of cardboard. This is on top of the bags and boards that almost all of the comics have already been stored in. The "Priority Mail - Flat Rate - Medium Box 2 (side-loading)" if packed full has no extra space for padding besides the box itself. Local pickup is also possible.
Please carefully count the number of comics after winning and select the appropriate shipping method that will fit all of the comics won in the sale. If you win multiple sales, then you will need to add up the number of total comics, and then you can see below how many will fit into which boxes, and how much you can expect that the shipping costs will be.
The final weight of all sales will vary and do not weigh just one ounce. I entered one ounce for the sales because I do not yet know how much they all will weigh after being safely combined and packaged.
The average weight of one comic (including bag and board) seems to be:Between two and six ounces. (from a random sampling of some of my comics)
First-Class Mail: Up to 13 ounces each. (3/4 inch maximum thickness)
Priority Mail - Flat Rate - Envelopes and Boxes: Up to 70 pounds each.
The current USPS sizes seem to be around this large:
First-Class Mail - Large Envelope: $3.50Maximum of 1-3 comics. (depending on thickness)
Priority Mail - Flat Rate - Envelope:$6.65Maximum of 3-6 comics. (depending on thickness)
Priority Mail - Flat Rate -MediumBox 1 (top-loading):$13.60Maximum of40-50 comics. (depending on thickness) (space for padding)
Priority Mail - Flat Rate - Medium Box 2 (side-loading):$13.60Maximum of40-60 comics. (depending on thickness) (no space for padding)
Priority Mail - Flat Rate - Large Box: $18.85Maximum of40-50 comics. (depending on thickness) (space for extra padding)
Media Mail: N/A (not applicable)I would love to ship this way, and it seems fair to me, as they are books, but unfortunately, it is not allowed for comic books. And yes I spent hours on researching this and there is much confusion but the end answer is at this moment simply no, it is not allowed.
I've now also spent many hours on researching how best to ship out these comics, and these available options seem to be the best that I could come up with for the limited amount of time that I have. Possibly a small amount of money on shipping could be saved for packages sent nearby that are under two pounds, but I just don't have the time to weigh all of the collections of comics individually for each sale. And since the flat rate boxes are already a large savings (up to 70 pounds per box) for shipping anywhere in the USA, I will use the above flat rates for all customers. Thanks for understanding.
If you live outside of the USA then please contact me to request a shipping quote before offerding. I also recommend that you search for and visit the USPS "Postage Price Calculator" to estimate what your shipping could be. You will need to estimate yourself the weight and size of the amount of comics that you would like to win, and then choose your country and which type of shipping you would like. This will give you a good idea of what the final shipping costs would be for you. Thanks.
