These are eight 19th Century hand-colored plates from the \"The Habitable World Described, or the Present State of the People in All Parts of the Globe, from North to South.\" They are the plates that originally describe the chapter on China. The British Museum has this in their collection (but not hand-colored). We have added links when available.- \"A Bear Chace [sic]\". Oriental figures on horseback spearing a bear on the ground in a mountain setting. Print made by Burnet Reading after Julius Caesar Ibbetson. See Army On The March\", Lines of soldiers with an officer in a horse-drawn carriage in the centre. Print made by James Fittler after Edward Francis Burney. See Chinese Villa\";

This rare find is in excellent condition with wear commensurate with age. As represented by the pictures.
