This is a trunk section of a tree that fell in the Arizona Petrified Forest about 225 million years. About 60 million years, tectonic shifts and uplifting brought this formation to the surface. The mineralization that took place allowed these now-stone \"trees\" to weather 60 million years of heating, freezing, and erosion on the high desert plateau.This specimen weighs 32 pounds and makes an excellent shelf display, a very sturdy door stop, or raw material for cutting into bookends or rounds.Top is finely polished and shown dry in all photos.
