First Edition Eyes on Tomorrow "The Evolution of Proctor & Gamble" by Oscar Schisgall. Beautifully designed navy hardback cover with gold imprinted logo and signatures of William Proctor and James Gamble, founders of the company, w/dustjacket. The story of Procter & Gamble's 140 year history and its growth and success from a soap company in wartime crisis to one of the largest companies in the U.S.; 295 pages, plus Appendix. All in like new condition, no stains, markings or tears; however book jacket has wear and tear (see photo's). logo on jacket and hard cover has controversial logo, which was later changed, and includes newspaper article on the controversary surrounding that logo. Book measures approx 9 1/2" x 6 1/4". Illustrated with black and white photo's Great addition to the Procter & Gamble collector, as well as manufacturing collectors.
PLUS: Vintage Holiday Greeting Card from Procter & Gamble 2002. Ivory color card and envelope, inside reads "The front cover is a turn-of-the-century store front for Charles L. Bartlett, a Chicago distributor of P&G products. The American flag that was displayed in the storefront has been highlighted in honor of all those affected by the events of September 11, 2001". Message in card reads "Although times and customs change, as we celebrate our 165th Procter and Gamble holiday season, we continue to send our greetings with the same traditional wishes for our Procter and Gamble families. We wish you a joyous holiday season, peace and happiness in the New Year." It is signed by A.G. Lafley, Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive. Card and envelope is in "like new" condition, no stains or tears, although some reflective marks in light, not noticeable otherwise. Envelope has one bent corner (see pic's for greater detail). Measures approx 5 1/4" down and 8" across.
