A unique IAU conference name badge from Prof. Vladimir Vanysek, a famous Czech astronomer and attendee at the 1958 IAU meeting in Moscow.
Prof Vansek died in 1997, his obituary is online. He produced several papers on cometary motion and composition and lectured at Charles University, the foremost university in the country.
The badge face is 5cm wide and has a safety clasp to the rear. The pictue displays Moscow university, where the conference was held and the text reads 10th International Astronomical Union Moscow 1958 in Russian.
A genuinely unique and rare historic piece.
