- Description: This is an item we purchased as part of a large Civil War related collection. This particular item is a framed page from a magazine\'s book showing three colored photos representing three iconic locations associated with the battle of Gettysburg. These are Devil\'s Den, The Trostle Barn, and Shultz\'s Woods. There is a caption in the middle of these photos which indicating what the images represent and giving a short synopsis of their historical importance (see second and third photos). Of course these are recent images of the location as they can be found today, or at least in 1957, in Gettysburg Pennsylvania. The piece is framed in a wooden frame with a glass covering . It has a brown paper backing and is equipped with a bracket to hang from. There is a pencil notation on the back, which we are unable to completely decipher but appears to say \"From 1957 Holiday\'s Book on its mag\'s pictures.\" Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
- Date: Unknown, but the collection was formed during the 1980s and 1990s.
- Origin: Purchased from a collector in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
- Size: The frame measures ~11\" by ~7 7/8\". The piece weighs about one pound.
- Maker: Unknown.
- Marks: The back has the following writing in pencil, made by the original collector. We are not able to completely read the notation but we think it says \"From 1957 Holiday\'s Book on its mag\'s pictures\".
- Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: Very nice and unusual piece, which would make a nice addition to your Civil War collection.
- Condition: Both the image and the frame are in very good condition with no observable major problems. The frame has losses to the finish, which we believe can be refinished easily, but we leave that to the new owner. The frame also has some minor dings, but these are truly of no concern. Please see photos to appreciate the beauty and condition of this piece.
