6&1/2 letters, 2 postcards, a Christmas card, all from the year 1943, most of these written by serviceman to parents in Hillburn, New York. The first one I read was not from him but from a family friend(also serving in the War), to the Hillburn serviceman\'s mother, in which his situation had him wounded, to the extent of not being able to walk(please see pics 2-4), the paper has some holes in it from age, another letter that caught my eye (dated March, 1943), exuded extreme racism(please see pic 4), if you begin reading \"Frank is sleeping right next to me...\"), and continue to read...\"the saddest bunch of black n-----s\". The irony is, the Hillburn serviceman himself was of African American background, specifically a member of a community in Ramapo(Hillburn, N.J.) that were crudely referred to as \"Jackson Whites\". The letters in general give a good description of his \"stay\" at Camp Upton, NY, as well as Camp Swift, Texas. One of the letters includes only pages 4-5, missing 1-3. Three envelopes included, one that does not match to any letter (date-wise, that is, but from 43\' also). Envelopes worn, some letters also wrinkled, one with hole that was taped. From a smoke-free, pet-free home, email any questions, payment appreciated. within 3 days of sale\'s end.
