For sale is a full ticket to a reception supporting the candidacy of Charles Evans Hughes as Governor of New York. Dated November 1, 1906, the reception was held at the Majestic Theatre in Utica, New York. Secretary of War Elihu Root, a New Yorker, was there to support Hughes and his name is printed on the ticket. Hughes would win the Governorship and would later serve on the Supreme Court as an Associate Justice and later Chief Justice, as Secretary of State and would receive the Republican nomination for President in 1916. The ticket is authenticated genuine by PSA and is graded VG 3.
