An original antique letter, including the cover, written by a girl named Sarah Blankenship and a couple smaller letters or notes written by Eddie, George and Sarah Blankenship. This letter was written in 1888 from Hurricane Illinois and sent to Frank Dickson in Fallston North Carolina. Some misspelling takes place, see scans for more details.

Excerpts:.....we had a Christmas tree, I got peanuts and candy. We went to Uncle.....Christmas it was Johns birthday they had a dinner and killed a goose and we had a nice time.....Uncle Frances straw pile fell down and killed the cows and crippled one so she can\'t get up. Mr. Trackles barn was burnt up, five horses, his corn and wheat and oats and hay was burnt up.......Lily Lacwood died with the diphtheriaand harry got well but he can\'t talk. Aunt Polly Rinfrow died with the Measles and Charley..... has had the Measles. Thirty German came to school and gave 22 children the measles......
